WITH A PASSION FOR SUSTAINABLE AND LOCALLY CAUGHT FRESH SEAFOOD
In Simon Henningsen's historic building, located right next to the Lawn in the middle of Tivoli, in the heart of Copenhagen, you will find FIGARO - a seafood bistro.
With a view to the Stage and the midnight fireworks, we serve fresh seafood primarily rom Danish waters.
FIGARO also has its own bar in which the focal point is good wines, beers and drinks as well as light dishes and bar snacks.
ALWAYS
FRESH FISH
We always serve fresh seafood caught in Danish waters, which is why we only trade with local fishing companies that can help us guarantee the freshness of every single catch.
Tomorrow's fish is still in the sea.
OUR HISTORY
The bistro is named after Georg Carstensen's magazine from 1840, which was called FIGARO.
When Carstensen, who founded Tivoli, lacked subscribers to his magazine, he invited to the so-called Figaro parties in Kongens Have in Copenhagen.
Here he hired Hans Christian Lumbye's orchestra to provide the music.
This was the start of a collaboration that continued when Carstensen founded Tivoli some years later in 1843 and Lumbye became conducter of the music in Tivoli.
Figaro Seafood bistro opened the doors for the first time in the spring of 2021.

LOCAL & SUSTAINABLE
FISHING
It is important for us to work with only the best fishing companies, which assume their share of our shared responsibility, in relation to going the sustainable way.
We are constantly working towards serving only MSC- and ASC-certified seafood from Danish waters.
